The Yamaha YTR-8335LA trumpet, designed with Wayne Bergeron, is presented here with KGUmusic design customization. This instrument was in good technical condition upon acquisition. KGUmusic performed minimal work to customize its appearance while preserving its original sound.

Wayne Bergeron is known for his performances across various musical genres. In 2006, he collaborated with Yamaha to create the YTR-8335LA(S) Custom model, now in its second generation. Bergeron's demanding performance needs led Yamaha to rework the first-generation YTR-8335(S).

New Two-piece Valve Casing: The valve casing, central to performance, underwent significant improvements. Material selection and brace connections were refined. These adjustments enhance breath efficiency and offer ideal playing resistance.

Phosphor Bronze Heavy Bottom Caps: A first for Yamaha, these heavy phosphor bronze bottom caps directly connect to the valve casings and affect the instrument’s tone. Testing led to a design that improves high notes and enhances harmonic richness in the middle register.

Xeno Artist Model Parts: Yamaha incorporated parts from the Xeno Artist range (water key, piston pads, cap pads). This improves tonal clarity and provides better feedback to the performer, resulting in a distinct tone across the instrument’s full range.

French Bead: This advanced bell rim technique involves curling that matches a semi-cylindrical shape. It enhances sound feedback to the performer.

Side Seam: This method places the connection point on the lateral side of the valve casing, unlike conventional connections. This design promotes open vibration, giving the trumpet broader tonal resonance.
